Complex, elegant and timeless, the Manhattan is a great cocktail. A well-known story pinpoints us: the birthplace of this cocktail was the Manhattan nightclub in New York City in 1870. However, a bartender at the time claimed the drink was created in 1860 by a Broadway bartender named Blake. Whichever is the truth, by 1900 the drink was already hugely popular.
