How to Fill a Hip Flask

How to Fill a Hip Flask

2015-04-07 16:20:14
Filling a hip flask is not quite as simple as it may seem. Pouring liquor from a large bottle and aiming for the flask can result in precious ounces spilling all over the sink, counter or floor. Just one simple tool that you may already have in your kitchen can help prevent this, leaving more of the liquor in the flask and less wasted in unnecessary spills.

1.Set the hip flask upright on a flat, stable surface. If the flask is on an uneven surface, it may tip over and spill as you attempt to fill it.

2.Insert a funnel into the mouth of your flask. A typical large household funnel may be too wide to fit, so you need to ensure your funnel is small enough to work with your flask.

3.Hold the flask and funnel firmly in your non-dominant hand. This has two purposes: keeping the flask steady so it does not tip over and keeping the funnel snugly in the mouth of the flask. Do not lift the flask off the flat surface, but simply hold it in place.

4.Pour the liquor slowly into the funnel with your dominant hand. Listen to the sound of the liquor pouring into the flask. The sound will get higher and higher as the flask fills. Stop pouring when the sound gets very high, as this suggests the flask is nearly full. Pouring beyond this point will simply result in filling the funnel.

What are you waiting for? Our stainless steel hip flask is your best choice.
